HS Code
The first thing before the importation of medical (or any) products into China is the selection of the correct HS Code. It is not so easy because China Customs uses more than 5000 6-digit HS Code numbers, but to clear the goods, one needs to provide a 10-digit, product-specific code. Obviously, for such a quantity of numbers, more than one number may be selected, but for different product codes, different clearance documents may be required. That is why it is advisable to consult the product code and import requirements with China Customs before starting this process.
Import Documents
After selecting the correct HS Code, one should prepare the required documents. Usually these are an invoice, a bill of lading, a contract, and other documents, depending on the product and consignee status at China Customs.
Import Declaration
Once the goods are cleared, China Customs issues Import Declaration Form. The document contains information about the shipper, consignee, import agent (if required), product, inspection documents, fright prices, etc. Specific information could be find in the picture above, but some sensitive data has been errased.
Inspection
